The difference
The Hybrid is the alleged product of the Grey's programme. Where the Grey is described as uniform and emotionless, the Hybrid is described as variable: partly human in face and hair, with the large eyes and slight build of the Grey side.
Hybrids appear only in the later abduction literature, from Budd Hopkins's Intruders (1987) onward, and are never reported outside that context. No physical evidence for either exists.

In their own dossiers
The Grey is described with more consistency than any other type, partly because the image has been reinforced by decades of book covers, films and television. Witnesses report a being between three and five feet tall with a large, smooth, hairless head that is wide at the cranium and narrow at the chin. The eyes dominate the face: enormous, black, almond-shaped, wrapping slightly around the sides of the head, with no visible pupil, iris or white. The nose is two small openings, the mouth a thin slit that is rarely seen to move, and ears are absent or vestigial.
Abductees describe hybrids as looking like frail, pale humans: thin bodies, large heads with large dark or unusually pale eyes, sparse fine hair, small features, and skin without colour. Children are the most often described, presented in nurseries aboard craft, sometimes listless and sometimes alert. Adult hybrids in the later literature are said to be nearly indistinguishable from humans, a claim that Jacobs developed into a warning about integration.
