Physical profile
The Avian is described as a tall humanoid with a bird's head, most often a raptor's, with a curved beak, forward-facing eyes and a crest or ruff of feathers. Plumage runs from white and gold to blue, and covers the head, shoulders and sometimes the arms, with vestigial wings in some accounts. The body is otherwise human-like, standing upright, with hands rather than talons. The overall impression in the lore is of dignity: the being is a herald, not a hunter.
Reported origin
No consistent home system is given. The type is a shape that recurs across mythologies rather than a people with an address.
Culture
Avian beings are portrayed as messengers, teachers and keepers of records, a role inherited directly from bird-headed deities such as the Egyptian Thoth, god of writing, and Horus, god of kingship. The 2015 'Blue Avian' material from the American contactee Corey Goode cast them as a spiritual delegation delivering a message of forgiveness and coming change.
Technology
Described in the contactee material as sound- and light-based, and in myth not at all.
Craft
Goode described enormous spherical craft associated with the Blue Avians. Mythological sources have no craft.
Communication
Telepathic in the contactee account, with messages of a spiritual character.
Earth encounters
Bird-headed beings are among the oldest divine images: Horus and Thoth in Egypt, Garuda in India, the feathered serpent in Mesoamerica, and the Thunderbird of North American tradition. The modern contactee version arrived in 2015 with Goode's accounts, which spread rapidly through online channels and a television series. There are no independent sighting reports.
Lore & history
The Avian is a myth wearing a spacesuit. Birds have carried messages between heaven and earth in human imagination for as long as we have records, and the contactee movement gave that image a new context. XenoAtlas lists it as contactee lore and folklore.
Goode's Blue Avians arrived with a full cosmology, the 'Secret Space Program' narrative of hidden fleets and off-world colonies, that spread through the Gaia streaming network's series Cosmic Disclosure. The claims are uncorroborated. The older bird-god imagery needs no such support; Thoth's ibis head and Horus's falcon face are among the most recognisable images in art.
