LyranThe First Ones
In channelled cosmology, Lyrans are cast as the original humanoid people from whom the Nordic, Pleiadian and Sirian lines are said to descend. The idea functions as an origin myth for the entire 'human-like' family of contactee beings.

Physical profile
Lyrans are described as tall, strong and warm-toned, the most physically robust of the human-like types, with hair ranging from blond to red-brown and skin from fair to golden. A recurring detail in the channelled literature is a feline quality, sometimes only in the eyes and sometimes extending to a full cat-like face, which is why the Felinid is often treated as a Lyran sub-lineage. They are portrayed as pioneers: explorers, settlers and, in the founding myth, ancestors.
Reported origin
Lyra is a small constellation in the northern sky whose principal star, Vega, is the fifth-brightest in the night sky and about 25 light-years away. Vega is real, young and surrounded by a debris disc that may contain planets, but nothing about it supports the lore. In channelled cosmology Lyra is the cradle: the region where the first humanoid civilisations arose before spreading to the Pleiades, Sirius, Orion and eventually Earth. The name serves as an origin point in the same way that Eden does.
Culture
The Lyran society of the literature is clan-based and expansionist, a diaspora people whose descendants populate much of the galaxy. Authors describe an ancient war, usually with reptilian forces, that scattered the Lyrans and set the pattern of galactic history that later channelled sources elaborate. The beings are characterised as proud, protective and creative.
Technology
Lyran technology is described only as the root of everything that came after: the first starflight, the first terraforming, the first genetic engineering. The lore's interest is in lineage rather than machinery.
Craft
Craft are almost never described independently of the Pleiadian and Nordic vessels that the Lyran story treats as its descendants.
Communication
Spoken and telepathic in the channelled sources, which are themselves the only source of communication attributed to the type.
Earth encounters
There are no physical encounter cases. The Lyran appears with the 1980s and 1990s channelled cosmologies, particularly the work of Lyssa Royal and Keith Priest, whose 1989 book The Prism of Lyra laid out the origin story that most later writers repeat.
Lore & history
As mythology, the Lyran story is a creation myth for the contactee universe, providing a common ancestor for all the human-like types and a primordial conflict to explain the presence of hostile ones. Its function is structural. XenoAtlas records it as contactee lore and speculative.
The Prism of Lyra presented itself as a 'galactic family tree', and its influence on later channelled writing is hard to overstate: the Lyran origin, the Vegan and Sirian branches, the feline and avian lineages and the Orion wars all come from it or from its immediate imitators.
