Reptilian vs Draconian

Broadly the same tradition. Draconians are the ruling, sometimes winged caste within the wider Reptilian narrative rather than a separate reported type.

The difference

Reptilian is the broad category; Draconian is its imperial elite. In the conspiracy literature Reptilians are shape-shifters hidden among humans, while Draconians are described as a winged, ruling caste from the Alpha Draconis system that commands the others.

Both descend from the same sources: pulp fiction serpent-men, the 1983 series V, and David Icke's books. The distinction exists mainly inside the lore itself, which is why the Atlas files both under folklore and fiction.

In their own dossiers

Reptilian

Descriptions of the Reptilian are consistent across fiction and conspiracy literature because the second borrowed heavily from the first. The being stands between six and nine feet tall, heavily muscled, with green, brown, bronze or grey scales, a ridged skull or crest, and a face somewhere between human and lizard: a flattened nose, a wide mouth, and eyes with vertical slit pupils in gold or yellow. Hands are clawed, usually with four digits. Some versions have a tail, dorsal spines or a frill.

Draconian

The Draconian is the Reptilian raised to royalty. Fiction and conspiracy writing describe a being seven to ten feet tall, massively built, with red, bronze or black scales, a crown of horns or a bony crest, and in some versions wings. The face is more dragon than lizard, with a heavy brow and pronounced jaw. Armour, insignia and ceremonial dress are common, marking the type as a ruling class rather than a soldier.
