Bob Lazar
The man who claimed in 1989 to have worked on alien craft at a site near Area 51.
In 1989 Lazar told a Las Vegas television station, at first in silhouette, that he had been employed at a facility called S-4 near Groom Lake to reverse-engineer alien flying discs powered by an element he called 115. His account made Area 51 a permanent fixture of the mythology.
His claimed degrees from MIT and Caltech could not be verified, and the physics he described is not accepted. Supporters point to element 115 (moscovium) being synthesised years later, though not in a stable form. Lazar has repeated his account for over thirty years without providing proof; he remains one of the most disputed figures in the subject.
