The Pascagoula beings of 1973 were grey, wrinkled and robot-like, with claws and no visible eyes; the Varginha creature of 1996 was brown, oily, thin and red-eyed with a strong smell. One case involved a lift aboard a craft; the other only a sighting in a vacant lot.

Hickson described three creatures about five feet tall with wrinkled grey skin that looked like elephant hide, no visible eyes, a slit for a mouth, carrot-like protrusions where a nose and ears would be, arms that ended in claws like a crab's or a mitten's, and legs that seemed fused, so that the beings glided rather than walked. They made a buzzing or mechanical humming sound. Parker's later, fuller account added that one of the beings aboard the craft was smaller and more feminine, with fingers rather than claws.
The three women, Liliane and Valquíria Fátima Silva and Kátia Andrade Xavier, described a creature about the size of a child, crouched with its arms between its legs, with brown, oily, hairless skin, a large head, enormous red eyes, three ridges or bumps on its skull, and thin limbs that ended in large feet. It seemed to be trembling and in distress. A veterinary student who reportedly saw a creature at a clinic days later described something similar with a strong ammonia smell.
