New Jersey drew national attention in late 2024, when six weeks of nightly reports of large drones over homes, reservoirs and a military arsenal prompted political demands and, eventually, a federal statement that the objects were lawful drones, aircraft and stars. It is the archive's clearest modern example of a media-driven flap.
