UFO sightings in Michigan
Michigan produced the case that embarrassed the Air Force: the 1966 Dexter and Hillsdale sightings, which the consultant J. Allen Hynek explained, to public derision, as 'swamp gas'. The episode helped push Congress toward the Condon study.
